Young Sun’s practice includes preparing and prosecuting patent applications, patent counseling, and handling patent appeals and other proceedings in the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and patent litigation before the International Trade Commission and District Courts. Young Sun has broad exposure in a variety of electrical and mechanical technologies, including mobile devices, telecommunications, semiconductor, display technology, optics, mass spectrometry, computer networking, software, artificial intelligence (AI), vehicle technology, and memory devices.
Young Sun gained significant industry experience while working as a researcher in Seoul, Korea for an optics lab, where she focused on designing nano-scale optics devices and lens arrays. Prior to joining Sughrue, she worked at an IP law firm where she handled patent litigation in the telecommunications industry and patent prosecution in various technologies.
Young Sun serves as a secretary to the Korean American Intellectual Property Bar Association (KAIPBA) for 2021 - 2022.
