Thomas has experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications for technologies relating to digital multimedia coding and broadcasting, telecommunication systems, consumer electronics, medical imaging and devices, graphical user interfaces, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotics.

Prior to ‎joining Sughrue, Thomas worked as a Patent Examiner at the USPTO in the area of graphical user interfaces, and as an associate at both a large general practice law firm and a small intellectual property boutique.
