The USPTO recently introduced a Fast-Track Appeals Pilot Program that provides expedited review in ex parte appeals. When the application receives an appeal number, the Appellant may file a petition and pay a $400 fee for an expedited review and decision on their appeal. The USPTO target is to reach a decision on the ex parte appeal within six months after the application has been accepted into the Pilot Program.
