Ms. Yan Lan is a registered Patent Agent and a member of the firm’s chemical patent group. She has extensive experience in prosecuting patent applications and writing opinions regarding patentability, infringement and freedom-to-operate. Ms. Lan has diverse subject matter experience in patent prosecution, ranging from chemical formulations and processes to therapeutic chemicals. She has experience in medical devices and medical polymer formulations. Her non-medical polymer work has encompassed coatings, adhesives, and magnetically activated variable viscosity materials. She has also had considerable experience with business methods patents.
Ms. Lan has extensive experience in foreign patent prosecution. She had experience overseeing and managing large volume of Patent Cooperation Treaty filings and managing extensive patent cases in the European Patent Office, the Canadian Patent Office, the State Intellectual Property of China, the Japanese Patent Office, and the Korean Intellectual Property Office. In particular, she is very familiar the Chinese patent law and system.
Ms. Lan has a Masters degree in Intellectual Property from the Franklin Pierce Law Center and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Light Industry University of Beijing, P.R. China. She is a member of the National Association of Patent Practitioners (NAPP).
Ms. Lan is also a native speaker of Mandarin.
