Sughrue Partners with Akron Law School and Peking University on AIA Seminar
Sughrue Mion, PLLC, along with The University of Akron School of Law, Peking University Law School, and the Beijing law firm of Tongshang, is sponsoring a program in Beijing, China May 17-19, 2013 on issues relating to the impact the America Invents Act will have on Chinese Companies. This in depth seminar will discuss the pre-grant provisions and the post grant provisions of the America Invents Act and will provide insight into strategies Chinese companies may wish to pursue in seeking patent protection and enforcing patent rights in the U.S. The program also will include sessions on U.S. trademark law and Section 337 practice.
The sessions will include speakers from both the U.S. and China. Speakers from China include representatives of the judiciary, the Chinese Patent Office, practicing attorneys, and law professors. The U.S. Embassy's Economics Minister Counselor, Hanscom Smith, will deliver a luncheon address. Sughrue speakers will include Alan Kasper, John Callahan, Susan Pan, Jody Drake, Cyril Chan and Hui Wauters.
