Mr. Barr is an associate in the firm’s Internet, e-Commerce, and Software group.  His practice focuses on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications.

Mr. Barr has experience in a wide array of computer and software-oriented technologies, including, but not limited to: software and database-driven web application development; computing hardware design; design and implementation of digital circuits; Xilinx tools and other software packages for computer-aided design; FPGA-based prototyping; networks and Internet protocols; artificial intelligence and machine learning; and electronic market design.  Mr. Barr also worked for a web development company where he gained industry experience in the area of data storage systems involving RAID redundancy.

Prior Experience
Microsoft, Software Development Engineer in Test - Designed testing approaches and developed automated testing software for massively scalable source code control system used to secure Microsoft's intellectual property assets and for large-scale web applications in C++, C#, ASP.NET, and Perl.  Evaluated existing automated test systems for source code control product, developed plan for redesign to improve efficiency and efficacy and executed a substantial rebuild of the system.  Tested secure web infrastructure used by Microsoft.com and tested source code control system for functionality, performance, stability, integrity, and security.  Planned and wrote automation software for the web application deployment process.

IBM, Web Developer - Developed dynamic, database-driven web sites and database applications.

Digicove, Programmer and Web Developer - Developed dynamic, database-driven websites, programmed in iHTML and SQL.

Freelance Web Developer - Developed an interactive educational application for Harvard University’s Department of Romance Languages and Literatures, an e-commerce web site for an event planning company, and a web site for a hedge fund.
