Debodhonyaa Sengupta, Ph.D.
Student Associate

Deb Sengupta is a student associate in the firm’s Chemical/Biotech Practice Group.  Her practice includes patent prosecution, litigation support, and client counseling, primarily within the areas of organic and materials chemistry. Dr. Sengupta joined Sughrue Mion upon receiving her Ph.D. in chemistry from Cornell University.  Her thesis covered "The Importance of Surface Chemistry in Mechanical Energy Dissipation of Nanomechanical Devices".  Additionally, Dr. Sengupta has been granted limited recognition to practice in patent cases before the USPTO under 37 C.F.R. § 11.9(b). Dr. Sengupta is currently pursuing a Juris Doctor degree at the George Washington University Law School, and expects to graduate May, 2012.
