Mr. Sokolov practices in all areas of intellectual property law with an emphasis on counseling clients on intellectual property matters, preparing and prosecuting patents, and patent litigation. In his patent prosecution practice, Mr. Sokolov prepares and prosecutes patent applications in the areas of semiconductor devices; networking; cellular and digital telecommunications; digital signal processing and imaging; medical devices; optics; computer software and hardware; and the mechanical arts.
Mr. Sokolov’s practice also includes litigation of intellectual property matters in various U.S. district courts and before the International Trade Commission (ITC). As part of his litigation practice, Mr. Sokolov is routinely involved in reexamination matters and interferences before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Mr. Sokolov is also actively involved in patent infringement and validity opinion practice and counseling, product clearance and freedom-to-operate matters. In addition, Mr. Sokolov is involved in licensing matters, including drafting and interpreting license agreements and due diligence work.
