Young Sun Kwon focuses her practice on patent prosecution and complex patent litigation before the International Trade Commission (ITC) and U.S. District Courts. Ms. Kwon's prosecution experience includes the preparation and prosecution of patent applications for LCD and LED display technologies, cellphones, telecommunication standards, online game software, video encoding, cameras and memory devices.
Ms. Kwon's litigation experience includes numerous aspects of trial preparation, including document discovery, validity and infringement analyses, deposition preparation and motion practice. She also has experience drafting invalidity claim charts, preparing claim construction charts, analyzing prior art reports and drafting settlement agreements.
Young Sun Kwon gained significant industry experience while working as a Researcher in Seoul for an optics lab, where she researched and developed a nano-scale measurement apparatus and designed lens alignment to be integrated in cell phones for projectors. Prior to joining Sughrue, worked at an IP law firm where she drafted responses to office actions and handled litigation matters in the telecommunications industry.
