The World Future Society is holding a symposium titled, “Nanotechnology: Innovation and Opportunities” on July 29 at the Hilton Minneapolis. The symposium will provide critical insights into nanotechnology commercialization and pull together researchers, legal professionals and venture capitalists from around the world. Dr. William J. Simmons, of the Nanotechnology practice group of the Washington, D.C. office of Sughrue Mion, will give a multimedia presentation on nanobiotechnology, which explores cutting edge developments in biological and biomedical research at the nanoscale. Other speakers include Charles W. Boylen of Darrin Fresh Water Institute; Orlando Auciello of Argonne National Laboratory; Rutledge Ellis-Behnke of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Stephen B. Maebius, editor-in-chief of Nanotechnology Law & Business; Chiming Wei of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and editor-in-chief of the journal Nanomedicine and Raj Bawa, president of Bawa Biotechnology Consulting.
The symposium highlights nanotechnology's interdisciplinary nature, showcasing cutting-edge research and development in nanomedicine, nanoelectronics, and nanomaterials.
