Loren Tung is a member in the firm's Electrical/Mechanical Patent Practice Group. His practice includes preparing and prosecuting high quality patent applications in the electrical, electromechanical, and computer arts. Further, Loren's practice includes patent litigations and related opinions in electrical technologies, Inter Partes Reviews before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, as well as arbitration proceedings before the Hong Kong International Arbitration Center (HKIAC).
Prior to joining the firm, Loren was a senior associate at intellectual property boutique law firms, preparing patent applications and obtaining patents for various multinational corporations. These applications involved diverse fields such as software, user interface, 3D display, video codec, semiconductors, telecommunication, and electric vehicles. Loren also wrote patent clearance opinions and conducted legal research and writing in patent litigations. Before entering into the practice of patent law, Loren worked as an electrical engineer in the Energy Systems Division at Argonne National Laboratory, and for Ovonic Battery Company, a developer and manufacturer of batteries used in electric vehicles.
