On April 14, 2011, the Judiciary Committee of the House of Representatives approved the America Invents Act (H.R. 1249). As in previous versions of the bill, the approved bill includes a first-inventor-to-file provision, a post-grant review system, and a prior user rights defense. The House bill also appears to prevent diversion of fees generated by the PTO.
The next step is for the to be considered by the full House of Representatives.
